Senate passes Anti-Terrorism Bill

Wednesday the Senate passed the Anti-Terrorism Bill. Here are just a few of it’s outstanding provisions:

  • Grants authority to president to restrict exports of agricultural products, medicine or medical devices to the Taliban or the territory of Afghanistan controlled by the Taliban.
  • Authorizes private gift giving to Justice Department’s anti-terrorism emergency reserve
  • allows sharing of grand jury and wiretap information for official law enforcement duties

Enough, you get the point. As this article shows, civil liberties are now seriously out of fashion. If you understand why this bill is bad, yay for you. If not, don’t worry. It looks like the Emmy’s are still on.

Hey, they have a .tv domain! For some reason that makes me giggle.
